February 15, 1943 – October 22, 2021

Victor F. Cooper, 78, of Roslindale, Massachusetts. Passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 after battling a long-time illness.

Victor was born in Huntington, West Virginia to George and Annazella Cooper. He was preceded in death by his siblings George Jr. (June Bug), Michael (Pee-Wee), Gwendolyn (Lady Bug), Arzetta (Zeta) and his nephew Dawayne Cooper. Victor is survived by one sister Constance Perry- Cooper.

In 1962, Victor joined the United States Army and trained with the Airborne Forces as a Paratrooper. He was also stationed for 2 years in Vietnam.

While proudly serving his country, he found his purpose to help others by beginning his training as a Respiratory Therapist, aside from his 30 plus years as a Respiratory Therapist, Victor's hobbies included bird watching, painting, reel to reel film editing and photography.

Victor is survived by his 3 children. Kiesha (Omega, Son in law) of Boston, Massachusetts, Tasha (Ko, Son in law) of Japan and Sean (Ashley, Daughter in law) of Wisconsin. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his former wife Patricia of Wisconsin.

Victor wanted to be remembered by his family and friends as a fiercely independent man who lived his life on his own terms. Respectfully, it was Victor's wishes to be cremated without a service.

Afterglow

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
