James L. Coyne, 69, of Mansfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia L. (Yunits) Coyne, to whom he was wed for 39 years at the time of her death on August 26, 2020.
Born in Attleboro, MA to the late Leonard and Eleanor (Robbins) Coyne on July 24, 1952, Jim grew up in Attleboro with his two brothers, the late David and Steven Coyne. He graduated from Attleboro High School in 1970 and Bridgewater State College in 1974. After college Jim spent time living on Nantucket where he developed a love for fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.
A resident of Mansfield for the past forty years, Jim worked as a salesman at Plumbers’ Supply in Taunton for a number of years before transitioning to independent contract work with Johnson & Johnson in Raynham, a job he loved. Jim also enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod, watching and talking Boston sports, and was an avid fan of Westerns and war documentaries.
Jim is survived by his daughter Kathryn DaSilva and husband Brian of Norfolk, his son David and wife Jennifer of Annandale, Virginia, his daughter Jamie Bruno and husband Anthony of Mansfield, and his grandchildren, Cooper, Penny, Violet, AJ, and Patrick.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 27th from 5:00-8:00PM at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
A brief funeral service will take place at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28th at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
