Beverly “Debbie” Mangone passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital Tuesday morning September 28, 2021 at the age of 80 years old. On that day and forever, Debbie stands in awe in the presence of the Lord

Debbie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, aunt, and friend. She was born in Boston in 1941 to William and Edith King. She grew up in Roxbury neighborhood. As a young woman Debbie was an adventurous soul who loved music and people. Some of her fondest memories as a teenager were going to the Newport Jazz festival. In 1959 she met the love of her life, Lawrence Mangone of East Boston; they were married in 1961.

Debbie was very involved in the Boston Asian Community. She was a member of the Chinese Big Brother and Big Sister Association where she helped newly arriving immigrants from Hong Kong find the American dream. She spoke fluent Cantonese. Her love of the Chinese culture dovetailed perfectly into the family business of Martial Arts training led by her husband Larry, a Kenpo Master.

Active in local Brockton politics, she would later become a Judicial Assistant for the Justices of the Brockton District Court where she served for many years until her retirement.

Her passions were God, Family, Friends and Country. A strong Christian, Debbie would lovingly share the “Good News” and profess her faith in Jesus to anyone who would listen. Her devotion touched and changed countless lives. She was a champion of the unborn. In her more senior years Debbie became a “key board warrior” writing, pleading and convincing many to protect not only the unborn, but to assist mothers in tough situations.

She was an active member of the Radiant Christian Assembly of God in Warren Rhode Island where her son Larry Jr. is the Senior Pastor.

Her love of family and friends will always be remembered. Debbie was most happy when she could be with all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She adored them all. Simple times, from sitting and talking with her daughter Deb for hours on end, enjoying laughs and sorrows together to family Dim Sum with friends were the moments we will cherish.
The Christian faith tells us that this is not good bye but rather see you soon. She is missed and loved but she still lives secure in the love of Christ.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord 2 Corinthians 5:8
