. In Taunton, Claude S. Simmons, age 82, passed away at home unexpectedly on September 29, 2021. Claude was born in Taunton, the son of the late Claude R. Simmons & Emma (Murphy) Simmons.
Claude served his country while in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 121 in Berkley. He had resided in Taunton most of his life. Claude was a longtime employee of the Atlantic Café in Taunton and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Claude leaves his daughter Jamie Lynn Meehan and granddaughter Tayla McCormack of Rochester. He also leaves his siblings; Shirley Ferreira of Middleboro, Frederick Simmons and his wife Janice of Taunton and Francis Simmons and wife Judy of Taunton and the late Robert, Paul, Leo, Russell, George, Edward Simmons and Gregory Simmons. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and his God Daughter Michele Ferreira of Middleboro.
Arrangements are under the care of the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home in Taunton. Services are private at the request of the family.
