Lawrence H. Rose, age 91, of Attleboro, formerly of Norwood passed away September 28th surrounded by his loving family. Born in Boston, he was raised in Mattapan and graduated from Hyde Park High School. Lawrence was a proud Marine Corp veteran of the Korean Era. He worked for Stop & Shop in Readville and was a member of the Teamsters Local 829 in Boston. He has lived in Attleboro since 2005, and previously lived in York Beach, Maine. He was an avid runner and ran more than 14 Marathons and was a member of the Sharon Road Runners Club. During his time in Norwood, he was a member of the Norwood Airport Commission, Knights of Columbus, and a lector at St. Catherine’s Church in Norwood and Star of the Sea in York Beach, ME. He was also an avid red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Beloved husband for 69 years of Patricia L. (Diskin). Father of Mary L. Deschamps and her husband Kevin of Attleboro, Lawrence J. Rose and his wife Christine of Chelmsford, and Robert P. Rose of Douglas. Brother of Richard J. Rose of Roslindale and the late Jacqueline Topham. Also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A private family service will be held Monday October 4th at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home followed by burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
