Michael F. Briggs, Sr.

Michael F. Briggs, Sr., age 70, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away, peacefully in the presence of his loving family, on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Carol L. (Sullivan) Briggs, to whom he was wed for forty-two years.
Born in Taunton, MA on February 21, 1951, he was a loving son of the late Frederick J., Sr. and Shirley P. (Nolan) Briggs.
Mike grew up in Norton and was a 1971 graduate of Norton High School. Prior to retiring, he worked as a Deli Manager for twenty-five years at Trucchi’s Supermarkets in Taunton and was previously employed at the Chartley Country Stores.
Mike loved spending time with his adoring wife, children, grandchildren and friends alike. His favorite times were those spent fishing, boating, gardening and playing cards. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Nicole L. Briggs and her companion Troy Davidson of Taunton, Michael F. Briggs, Jr. and his wife Jennie of Easton and Meaghan N. Stafford and her husband Greg of Norton. He was the loving Papa of Alexis, Tyler and Hunter, Hayden, Michael and Mckenna, and Grayson. He was dear brother of Frederick Briggs, Jr. of Norton and Patricia Sena and her husband Peter of Norton.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, August 1st from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Following visitation on Sunday, a reception will be held at the Norton VFW, 38 Summer Street in Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Michael’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 West Central Street, Natick, MA 01760.
