Stanislaw Gentek, age 84, of Canton passed away after a long battle with heart disease on July 8th at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton. He was the beloved and caring husband to Lyubov Gentek (Fedyk) for 20 years. Born and raised in Poland, he immigrated to Boston in 1971 and lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Canton 20 years ago. Son of the late Stanislaw and Marianna Gentek (Olzhewska), Loving brother of Anna Laszczkowska, Elzbieta Chmielinski, Genevieve Damiecki, and Jolanta Skrodzcka in Poland. Uncle of Barbara and husband Miroslaw Chludzinski and children Eva, Marek, and Jola Chludzinksi from Connecticut, Karen and husband John Corkery, Barbara Topka and husband Mariusz Tomaszewski, Dorota Laszczkowska, Joe Laszczkowski, Wojtek Laszczkowski, Robert Laszczkowski, and Agnieszka Laszczkowska. Stepfather of Galina and husband Roman Voloshchuk, Mikhail and wife Svetlana Fedik, Oksana and husband Taras Pryadko. Also loved by Stepgrandchildren Oleg Voloshchuk, Marta Fedik, Igor Pryadko, Adriana Pryadko, and many nieces and nephews here in the US and in Poland. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 13th from 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. with funeral mass service at 10 A.M. at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church at 146 Forest Hills St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. The Burial will follow at Canton Corner Cemetery at 1600 Washington St, Canton, MA 02021. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stanislaw's memory to Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church at 146 Forest Hills St, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130. | |||||
