In Brockton, Barbara (Wilton) Durkee, wife of the late Willard R. Durkee, passed away on June 6, 2021. She was 85 years old. Barbara was born in Brockton, MA, where she graduated from Brockton High School in 1954. She pursued a career in banking at Crescent Credit Union. She worked for Harbor One Bank for 15 years before retiring in 1998. Barbara moved to Taunton where she was very involved in the activities her community had to offer…bingo, going on trips to the casino, dancing, etc.
She is survived by her three children; Steven Durkee and his wife Michelle, Susan Patricelli (Durkee), Robert Durkee and fiance Beth Wordell, her brother William Wilton of Easton, grandchildren; Christopher Durkee, Danielle Castronova and husband Leonard, Jennifer Hurley and fiancé Dwayne Martin, Nicole Durkee, Kayla Durkee, Geena Durkee and Adam Durkee, great grandchildren; Brandon, Liam, Aiden, Adelyn, DJ (Dwayne Jr.), Allison and many nieces and nephews. She had many lifelong friends and was a devoted Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 16th at 11am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 5-7pm. Burial is private.
