Donald E. Griffin, age 69, passed away on May 29, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 5, 1951 in Cocoa Beach, FL, son of the late Laurence L. Griffin and Alma Griffin (Head). He moved with his parents and siblings to Chicopee in the 60’s when his family settled here after moving around with the military. Donald served in the US Air Force. He loved golf, flying, all sports and music. Along with his father and brother, he was an owner and operator of the Northeast Courier Service and American Lock and Key both in Chicopee. He later worked at New England Uniform for over 20 years before he retired. Donald enjoyed most of his time on the golf course and spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and friends. For the last many years he was a Starter at Westover Golf Course, this was his first home. He leaves his two loving daughters, Sara Polverini and her husband, Kevin of Chicopee. Rachel Fagullar and her husband, Corey, of Chicopee; his cherished grandchildren, Griffin and Giulia, who he adored to no end ; his dear friend and “Big Sis” Nola Cohen of Chicopee; his beloved dog Gizmo and cat Willy; the mother of his children, Linda (Ray) Baillargeon of Southampton; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother Robert Griffin and his sister Charmaine Griffin. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. Military honors and a private burial in Fairview Cemetery will be at a later date.
