Cecelia Theresa McLaughlin passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Raynham. Born on June 8th, 1926 in Taunton, the daughter of the late James & Helen (Murray) McLaughlin. A lifetime resident of Taunton, formerly of 143 School St., Aunt Ceil spent over 40 years at Kilburn Glass Industries in the Chartley section of Norton, retiring in 1998.
Always a joy to be around, “Aunt Ceil” enjoyed the company of family and friends. Her mind sharp to the end, Aunt Ceil enjoyed word puzzles, card games and TV quiz shows (especially Jeopardy). She loved studying history, especially of her hometown Taunton. Aunt Ceil worshipped all her pets including her dog Stoney, her cats Frasier & Maddy.
A true definition of an Aunt with a great sense of humor, Aunt Ceil will be missed by many relatives including nephews; George (Mick) McLaughlin, his wife, the late Barbara Hewitt, Louis Katon, his wife Joyce, Michael Katon, his wife Sally, the late James F. Katon, nieces, Anne Thyrre, her husband Peter, Betty Ann Czepiel, her husband Stanly, and many great nephews and nieces as well as many great-great nephews and nieces. Aunt Ceil also leaves her cousin Jimmy Olsen and his wife Barbara.
Funeral home visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 27th from 9:30-10:30am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
