William “Bill” E. Dodd, age 88, passed away on April 27, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Oct. 30, 1932 in Springfield, a son of the late James F. Dodd Sr., and Katherine (Ryan) Dodd. William was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish. He served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked as a machinist for Missle Parts for many years. He worked at PTM Industries in Westfield for 22 years before he retired. Following retirement, William worked for Topor Motor Sales as a runner. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Tiger Athletic Club and coached their programs. He is predeceased by his loving wife Jeannette Dodd; his son Gary M. Dodd and his brother James F. Dodd Jr. He is survived by his sons, William B. Dodd and Neil P. Dodd of Chicopee and Joseph K. Dodd and his partner Barbra Whitehouse of Ashfield ; one sister, Mary (Dodd) Moriarty of Holyoke; A Great Niece Mae Lempke, two grandchildren, Cathrine Ann (Dodd) Devoe and her husband Kyle Devoe of Somers, CT and Erin May Dodd and her partner Kyle Young of Chicopee, along with two great grandchildren, Ariana Young and Cole Devoe. He also leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. A private burial was held in Notre Dame Cemetery. A celebration of life to follow at a later date, at the family’s discretion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund, 395 Chestnut St, Springfield, MA or to the Tiger Athletic Club Youth Program, 14 Montgomery St, Chicopee, MA. The Grise Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
