Geary, Joseph W. Sr., (Retired MSP) of West Roxbury formerly of Mission Hill passed away peacefully at home in the comfort of his loving family on April 10, 2021. Beloved husband of 37 years to Deidre L. (Bernard) Geary. Devoted father of Ryan Geary of West Roxbury, Regan Gorman and her husband Patrick (BFD) of West Roxbury and Joseph Geary Jr. (BFD) of Hyde Park. Cherished “Papa” of Colin and Kyla. Loving brother of Robert and his wife Fay of Hyannis, Michael and his wife Nancy of West Roxbury and the late Joan Dunn of Mission Hill. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Robert B. and Helen (McDonald) Geary. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He retired after 28 years of service with the Mass State Police and was a former Police Officer for the Mass Capital Police. He was also a past member of the American Legion Post 327, Mission Hill. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help “Mission Church”, 1545 Tremont Street at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Monday, April 19, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Private.
