McTIERNAN, Eleanor “Ellie” Age 100 of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
Born June 17, 1920 she was a longtime resident of West Roxbury and worked in the cafeteria of St. Theresa School for over 50 years.
Ellie was the beloved wife of the late General Philip R. McTiernan. Loving mother of Lynda Francis and her late husband Phil of Mattapoisett, Janet Distefano of Westwood and Susan Carraghan and her husband Jack of West Roxbury. Devoted Nana to Heath Francis, Paul Distefano and his wife Eileen, Heather Karafotias and her husband Mark, Eric Distefano and his partner Bonnie Bulens, and Sean Carraghan and his wife Bruna. Cherished “Extra Old Nana” to Anthony, Josh, Ava, Ella and Ethan. Ellie touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY on Sunday, April 18th at 1:00pm.
