Canaan Daniel Bernier, age 8, of Candia, NH died Thursday, March 23, 2006 in his home after a 4-½ year battle with neuroblastoma cancer. Canaan was born on July 11, 1997 in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, NH, a son of Marc E. and Karen J. (Remillard) Bernier. He had been a resident of Candia for two years, previously living in Derry, NH. Canaan graduated from Circle of Friends Kindergarten in Derry, and was currently a second-grade student at Henry Moore Elementary School, Candia. Canaan’s desire was to be a cowboy and he enjoyed country music.
Canaan is survived by his parents of Candia, his two brothers, Lucas R. Bernier and Caleb M. Bernier both of Candia, his paternal grandmother, Rita R. Bernier, his maternal grandmother, Pauline Remillard, nine aunts, nine uncles and 26 cousins.
Calling hours were held on Saturday March 25, 2006 from 3 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation followed. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Monday March 27th at 10:00am in St. Peter’s Church, 567 Manchester Rd., Auburn, NH.
