Ruth E. (Robinson) Rieu, age 89, of Brockton, MA, formerly of Monessen, PA, died peacefully at her home on February 13th, 2021. She was raised and educated in Monessen, PA, where she stayed and raised her own family. Ruth’s life was centered around her home and providing for her family. She welcomed the neighborhood into her home, whether it be children playing in the house or in her yard, Friday night movies on the front porch, or coffee and pastries in her living room. She was an active member of the French Club and loved music and dancing. She also loved animals; she always had pets and loved bird watching.
Ruth was the loving wife of the late Eli O. Rieu and the daughter of the late Ralph Robinson and Emma Beeman. Ruth was the loving mother of Henriette Rieu of Brockton, MA and Ralph and Lynette Rieu of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandmother of Tara Masterson, Meghan Rieu-Werden, Ryan Werden, Stacey Rieu, Melissa Adams, and Heather Stoll; great grandmother of Eli Adams, Ava Adams, and Ingrid Masterson. She was the sister of Cleo Amato of Monongahela, PA, Linda Alessio of Belle Vernon, PA and the late Robert Robinson. She was the aunt of Chad Alessio, Aaron Alessio, Brian Alessio, Kelly Cook, Kathy Cook, Carol Cook, Debbie Cook and the late Kimberly Cook.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home at 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday, February 18, from 1-3pm. Following COVID guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed. There is a maximum of 40 people in the funeral home at any one time. A second viewing will be held at Rhome’s Funeral Home, in Monessen, PA, on Tuesday, February 23, at a time to be announced . Ruth will be buried with her late husband Eli at Belle Vernon Cemetery in PA.
