Mary N. Hansen (English) of Winthrop passed away on February 5, 2021. She was 92 years old. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Louis V. Hansen. Born in Boston, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Gulli) English.
Prior to her retirement, Mary worked in the food service industry at Logan International Airport. Mary loved playing Bingo and enjoyed many trips to Foxwoods and Encore casinos. Mary was also an outstanding candlepin bowler.
Mary was the devoted mother of Robert Hansen and his wife Donna of Evansville, IN, Richard Hansen and his wife Jo-Ann of Peabody, Karen Schlichting and her husband Walter of Winthrop, the late Patricia A. Keenan and her surviving husband David of ME, Joann Huckins and her husband David of Tilton, NH, and Ronald Hansen of Winthrop. She was the adored grandmother of Michael Schlichting, Diane Houghton and her husband David and Jessica Huckins and loving great-grandmother of Benjamin and Riley Houghton. Mary was the dear sister of Dolly Massone of Everett and the late Grace Cassetta, Josephine Carpenito, Louis and Michael English. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop on Thursday, February 11, from 9-11AM, following current social distance guidelines and capacity limits. Funeral services will be private.
