Robert J. Dornan, age 75, of Brockton, died January 31, 2021 at his home. A lifelong resident of Brockton, Bob was the beloved only child of the late Charles and Gertrude (Twohig) Dornan.
A 1963 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, he attended Bridgewater State College. Bob was an active communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
He enjoyed trains and transportation, watching Jeopardy on television and writing stories. Bob was dedicated to taking daily long walks until, in 2015, he was struck by a falling tree limb causing extensive injuries from which he never fully recovered. For much of 2020, he stayed at Heights Crossing Assisted Living in Brockton, where he was honored to be chosen as a “Resident of the Month.”
Bob is survived by his cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father’s longtime companion Eleanor Fuller.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West Street, on Thursday, February 4 at 9am. His family will be at the church at 8:30 to greet you. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
