Rebecca Ann Pennington, age 32, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on January 2nd 2021 at Baystate Medical Center. Becca was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Class of 2006. She attended Westfield State College where she received her Bachelor’s degree, then moved on to receive her Master’s degree in Art Education from the University of Massachusetts. Rebecca was passionately involved as an advocate to bring awareness and fundraising efforts to Ovations for the Cure Research Foundation. She is survived by her parents Judy A. Taylor and her husband Brian of Chicopee; Perry Pennington Jr. and his partner Jeannette of Monson; grandparents Perry Pennington Sr. and Anita of Suffield, CT, Estelle Emmens of West Springfield and Lorraine Taylor of Chicopee; her twin sister and best friend Sarah Pennington of Andover, CT; her sister Melyssa St. Pierre of Ware, MA; her partner Kyle Escudero and their loving dog Baxter of Springfield; along with her nephews Owen, Roman, and Mason and a niece Skyla. Becca will be deeply missed by many close aunts and uncles as well as many loving cousins and friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home located at 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. Funeral service will be private, with burial taking place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
