Kenneth A. Hernandez, age 71, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Dell’Orfano) Hernandez, to whom he was wed for nearly fifty years.
Born in Boston, MA on March 13, 1949, he was a loving son of the late Oliver and Catherine (Bonito) Hernandez.
Ken grew up in Dedham and was a 1967 graduate of Dedham High School. He had made his home in Mansfield for the past thirty-four years.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Hernandez had worked for over twenty years as a money collector for Automatic Laundry in West Newton. He had previously been employed for twenty years at Edison Brothers in Wilmington.
Ken’s life and attention was always centered around his adoring family. He loved playing Pogo on his computer, had a special place in his heart for animals and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds that frequented his yard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Kenneth A. Hernandez, Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Mansfield and Katherine A. Hernandez of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of Oliver Hernandez of Dedham, Donna Welch and her husband Michael of Rhode Island and Deborah Drucker and her husband Phillip of Framingham. He is also survived by his stepmother Sandra Hernandez of Dedham, his aunt Janet Hernandez-DelSignore of Florida, as well as his loving nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
