Peter J. Provinzano

Peter J. "Puddin" Provinzano, of Woburn formerly of Winchester, passed away tragically Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the age of 71 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Peter was the beloved husband of Joan K. (Gonsalves) for 46 years. Born in Ayer, Peter was the son of the late Frank J. and Emma (Giuliani) Provinzano.

Peter was raised and educated in Winchester where he was a 1966 graduate of Winchester High School followed by a brief education at Boston College before being drafted by the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. Following his time in the Army, Peter began his career at the United States Postal Service. During his 30 plus years working at the Woburn Post Office he truly enjoyed interacting with and getting to know his customers. After retirement, Peter worked part time doing livery work where he enjoyed interactions with people.

Peter was totally devoted to his family. Together they enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Florida and spending time together at Plum Island and Hampton Beach. Peter also enjoyed playing tennis, wallyball and golf with his former coworkers. When his children were younger, he was very active with them and even coached his son's little league baseball teams.

Peter was a former member of the Winchester Elks and Towanda Club of Woburn. He had many dear friends, but one of his greatest joys was beating his best friend "Butchie" at a game of gin rummy. Peter also loved his pet dogs, Massimo, Buddy, and Ollie.

In addition to his beloved wife, Joan, Peter is survived by his devoted children from Woburn and their loved ones, Lisa Provinzano and her partner Steve Powers, Michele Provinzano, and Michael Provinzano and his wife Kristy. He was the loving grandfather of Van, Jimmy, Dylan, Ella and Mason. Sadly, Peter was predeceased by his sister, Mary Provinzano.
