Mary “Mamie” Virginia Murray passed away on August 8, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on Sept 22, 1949 to the late Everett and Katherine (Shea) LaValley. She worked for many years as a manager for Abdow’s where she met the love of her life. She later went on to work at Stefanik school where she left a lasting impact on the lives of many. Mary loved nothing more than attending family parties, sleepovers with her grandkids and morning coffees while watching the sunrise over the beach. Mary leaves her loving husband William Murray of Chicopee; two daughters, Hilary Santos and her husband David of Chicopee and Healey Murray and her girlfriend Amber Roy of Chicopee; one brother, John LaValley and his wife Deborah; three sisters, Karen Roj, Katherine Huggins and Donna Murray and her husband Pete. She also leaves two grandchildren; Lylah and William Santos, who meant the world to her. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday August 14, 2020 at 10:15 am at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 11:30 am at St Rose de Lima Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4 to 7 pm at Grise funeral home. Mask and social distancing are required.
