New Bedford – Carmen Maria (Diaz) Vega, age 67, of New Bedford passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Adaberto Vega.
Born in Manati, Puerto Rico she was the beloved daughter of Ana (Adorno) Diaz and the late Juan Diaz. Carmen had worked as a Personal Care Attendant for Tempus Company.
Carmen is survived by her mother, Ana Diaz; her children, son, Luiz Vega and his girlfriend Ady Santiago, son, Reinaldo Vega and his girlfriend Angelica Silva and daughter, Magaly Vega and her partner Lissette Velez; her 2 sisters, Rosa Diaz and Martina Diaz; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Carmen’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, August 6, 2020 at Perry Funeral Home. Her visiting hours will take place between 9:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. with a service to start at 11:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering and to practice social distancing of 6 feet. Attendance will be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions.
