Bruce F. Hay, 70, of Bedford, NH, passed away Wednesday July 8, 2020 in the Ridgewood Center in Bedford, NH. He was born in Methuen, MA on November 11, 1949, a son of the late Nelson and E. Janet (Hutchanson) Hay. Bruce proudly served his country with the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam era. He worked for Textron in Wilmington, MA, retiring after 18 years. In his younger days, Bruce loved camping and hiking, most often in the White Mountains area. His favorite place to go was York, ME. He loved animals but had a special affinity for cows, frequently stopping to feed them sugar cubes. Bruce loved his family, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered as an unbelievable story teller.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Pamela Hay, two sons, Jeremy Hay and his wife Amy and David Hay; one daughter, Jessica Hay; and three adored grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Scott Hay.
Following cremation, services were held on Monday July 13, 2020 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Family and friends at 2:00pm for a memorial service at 2:30pm in the funeral home. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks and encouraged to social distance. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice to benefit Alzheimer's research.
