Obituary

Willard (Bill) Peter Parenteau, North St. Paul, 91, fell asleep and passed away peacefully (of old age) on July 3rd, 2020. Bill was born on May 26th, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Verona Parenteau Kotrba and Edward Woessner. Graduated from Johnson High School, class of 1948. Served his country in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. Worked and retired from Northern States Power Company/Excel Energy. Bill was a dedicated husband to the love of his life, Marie, they wed on October 10, 1953. The pride of his life was his children, Carol Jean (Harry) Schulz, Jodell (Mark) Falteisek, Renee (Thomas) Mechelke, Daniel Parenteau, William (Rita) Parenteau, Scott (Kari) Parenteau, Thomas (Michelle) Parenteau, Kimberly (Gregory) Bloomstrom, James Parenteau and his 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Bill and Marie worshiped for many years at Church of St. Peter in North St. Paul.

Bill had a passion for the outdoors which he passed along to his children. He loved to spend time in his woods in Forest Lake, or fishing and camping with the family on Lake Kabatogama. He also loved gardening; every summer was a competition with the neighbors to grow the best tomatoes. He believed his family should never be without a pet, there was always a dog around, and sometimes an odd crow, hawk, roadside turtle, and even a couple of red foxes. His 90 pound lapdog Suzy is already missing him. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, storytelling and the everlasting twinkle in his eyes.

Bill is preceded in death by his mother Verona, sisters DeAnn and Rita, son Daniel, daughter Kimberly, son in-laws Thomas and Gregory.
