Alfred H. Bedard, Jr. 88 of Salem, passed away unexpectedly at the NSMC/ Salem Hospital onTuesday, June 2, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Cynthia K. (Turner) Bedard.
Born and raised in Salem he was the son of the late Alfred H. and Amanda (Berube) Bedard.
Al was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and first worked in the family business, Bedard’s Market in Salem while attending and graduating from Bentley School of Business. During the Korean War, he served stateside with the U. S. Air Force in South Carolina where he met and married Cynthia, the love of his life. Al began working in the accounting department of Sylvania in the mid-sixties and retired in 1994. He was devoted to his wife and family and loved motor cycles and woodworking. Al was deeply religious and a faithful, lifelong member of Ste. Anne Parish. He was a quiet soft spoken gentle man who will be greatly missed by his large extended family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebekah M. Bedard of Salem, Rachel A. Winstanley and her husband Alan of Lynnfield, Ruth E. Scott and her husband Wayne of Longwood, FL, his sons, Alfred H. “Fred” Bedard, III and his wife Cheryl of Sutton and Charles A. Bedard of Salem, his brother, Albert
“Sonny” Bedard of Salem. He also leaves his nine loving grandchildren, Chelsea Bedard, Olivia Bedard-Mott, Alexander & Seith Bedard, Dustin Kikuchi, Caitlyn Winn, Jacob, Jonah & Joshua Scott, his five great- grandchildren and three grand-kitties, Ali, Murphy & Fraiser. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter Cassandra Leslie, brothers Norman and Laurent Bedard and sister, Gloria Tachuk.
