Obituary

Richard J. Emig, 45, of Virginia Beach, VA and formerly of Chester, NH died February 13, 2006 at the Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan following a sudden illness. He was born in Denville, NJ on November 22, 1960, the son of Frank and Marilyn (Lowerre) Emig. He was raised in Rockaway and was a graduate of Morris Knolls High School. He served in the United States Air Force and later received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tampa. For the better part of the last two years, he was employed by Matrix based out of Houston, TX and had spent time in the country of Afghanistan. He was employed by Admix of Manchester, NH while he resided in Chester from 2001-2004. Richard was an energetic person who overcame a bout with Hodgkin’s disease in the early 1990’s. He reveled in “the island life”…surrounded by beaches and the sea while listening to Jimmy Buffet.

Rich was a lover of the outdoors, especially biking and rollerblading. He was a fan of NASCAR Racing and could answer any questions asked about any episode of “The Simpsons”. If at any time you heard laughter you were certain to know where to find him. Rich you’re a top notch “Parrott Head”.

In addition to his parents of Chester, NH, he is survived by three sisters, Elana Aviles of Tampa, FL, Gretchen Emig of Bradenton, FL and Sara DeCarlo and her husband John DeCarlo of Chester, his fiancée, Linda Tompkins and her 2 sons, John and Matthew of Londonderry, NH, aunts Ginny and Craig Koziol of San Antonio, TX, Carrie and Richard Codogni of Readsboro, VT, Audrey Lowerre of The Villages, FL and Janet Emig of FL, uncle George and Catherine Emig of Greenwood Lake, NY, six nephews and nieces, Anthony, Daniel Taylor, Christopher, Kennedy and Molly along with many cousins, cherished friends and co-workers. We miss you dearly and we will meet you in “Margaritaville”. Keep Laughing.


There were no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service was held in the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry on Saturday, February 25th at 1 PM.
