Carol A. (Dionne) Smith, 71 of Danvers, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, March 27, 2020 at the Beverly Hospital. She was the loving wife of Richard W. Smith with whom she shared 36 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem she was the daughter of the late Roger L. P. and Jeannette M. (Louf) Dionne. Carol worked in the offices of the United Shoe Machine Corporation of Beverly and continued through several ownerships, retiring from Black & Decker in 2012.
Carol was devoted to her family and extended family. She enjoyed her home, gardening, crafts and the couples many trips to Florida. Carol had a keen sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her two sisters, Yvonne M. Butterfield of Salem, Janet M. Ackerman and her husband Arthur of Walterboro, SC, her brother, John R. Dionne and his wife Renee of Salem, her sister-in-law, Judith A. Hallisey of Naples, FL, and brothers-in-law, Robert A. Smith and his wife Barbara & Roger L Smith and his wife Judy all of Beverly, and David W. Smith of Gloucester as well as several nieces, nephews , grandnephews and grandnieces. She will be missed by many.
