Karen L. Hewes, age 59, passed away on March 21 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 8, 1960 in Easthampton, MA, a daughter of the late William R. and Beverly (Silva) Hewes. Karen was a parishioner of the First Congregational Church in Chicopee. She is survived by her 2 sons, Walter W. Kobylanski II of Springfield and Robert W. Sherman Jr., of Chicopee; 1 daughter, Crystal Butler and her husband Wayne Butler II of Chicopee; 2 brothers, William Hewes and his wife Patricia of RI and Richard Hewes and his partner Nancy Kos of Chicopee; 1 sister Debra Pirog and her husband Robert “Skip” of Holyoke and 2 beloved grandchildren, Skylee and Sabastian Butler. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. All services will be private at a later date.
