Ethel B. (Laplante) Bedard, age 90, passed away on March 24, 2020 at the Holyoke Health Care Center. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Easthampton, a daughter of the late Edward and Lottie (Duso) Laplante. Ethel was a communicant of Assumption Church. She was a volunteer at the Chicopee Police Sub Station in Willimansett for many years as well as for Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen. Ethel is predeceased by her husband Irvin Bedard, her daughter Lori Bedard and her granddaughter Elizabeth Lewis. She is predeceased by her siblings Harold LaPlante, Douglas LaPlante, Albert LaPlante, Bernice Lapan, Gerald LaPlante, Doris LaPlante, Lucille Perrault, Eunice Ustaitis, Laura Garman, Lorraine Wagner, Gertrude Berge, Norma McElligott, William LaPlante, and Donald LaPlante. She is survived by her son Charles Bedard and his wife Anne of NY; 2 daughters, Karen Lewis and her husband Robert of SC and Carol Ruyffelaert and her husband John of Leeds; 8 grandchildren, Robert and his wife Kristi, Greg and his wife Frances, David and his wife Andrea, Jennifer and her husband Tim, John, Jacob, Justin and his wife Haley and Jillian. She also leaves 8 beloved great grandchildren. Ethel is also survived by her sister Dolores Branyon and her husband Ralph, Ronald LaPante and his wife Michelle, Edward LaPlante and his wife Phyllis, Richard LaPlante and his wife Patti and her sisters-in-law Joanne and Priscilla and her brother-in-law Clinton Berge. She leaves many beloved nieces and nephews. All services will be private at a later date.
