Roger S. Messier passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Mar 18, 2020. He was born in Coventry, VT, the son of the late Rosaire and Rollande (St Amand) Messier. He graduated form Trade High School in Springfield in 1963. Roger enlisted in the Army and was in the signal corps and in radio communications. He was honorable discharged and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Roger worked for Hamilton Standard and United Technology in CT until his retirement. He leaves his loving wife, Claire (Mumblo) Messier of Chicopee; his wonderful children, daughters, Amy Messier of Chicopee and Dana Housey and her husband Tyrone of Ludlow; son, Eric Messier of Oregon and his cherished grandchildren, Darius, Sadie and Blake Housey; also five brothers, Rosaire Messier and his wife Linda of W. Spfld, Roland Messier and his wife Doreen of Feeding Hills, Ronald Messier and (Donna) of Feeding Hills, Robert Messier and (Tina) of Marlborough and Real Messier and his wife Debbie of Feeding Hills and one sister Rachel and (Jack) of Stafford Springs and many extended family members. Roger will truly be missed by all that knew him. All services and burial at the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private. Donations may be made in Rogers memory to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or to the Baystate Children’s Hospital.
