CHICOPEE – Garry W. Rousseau, 58, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, February 16, 2020. He entered into Eternal Life at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on July 7, 1961, a beloved son of Donald Rousseau and the late Georgette (Belanger) Rousseau. He was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, graduated in 1979 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and later moved to Aldenville in 1983. He was employed as a Quality Engineer at Advanced Manufacturing Company in Westfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed the outdoors whether golfing, hiking, bird watching or puttering around his home and yard. He was a member of the Westfield Sportsmen’s Club. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on his beloved Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots. He was a season ticket holder of the Springfield Falcons and later the Springfield Thunderbirds hockey clubs for over 20 years. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Lori Ann (Duval) Rousseau. They were married on April 24, 1982 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 37 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving daughters, Amie L. Wozniak and her partner, Adam A. Erickson, and Mattie T. Rousseau and her fiancé, Travis R. Lelievre, all of Chicopee; his two cherished grandchildren, Olivia Anne and Hudson James Wozniak; his loving father, Donald Rousseau and his wife, Shirley, of Granby; his two dear brothers, Andre Rousseau and his wife, Tammy, of Granby and Jean Rousseau and his wife, Karen, of Chicopee; his loving mother-in-law, Priscille F. (Theroux) Duval of Chicopee; his dear sister-in-law, Sandy Duprat and her husband, Roger, of Springfield; his cherished nephew and nieces, Cameron, Deanna and Dominique Rousseau; and his many dear cousins, numerous friends, coworkers and extended members of the Rousseau and Duval families. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his loving father-in-law, Richard L. Duval and his cherished niece, Mariel Georgette Rousseau. His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
