Cora R. (Taylor) Jordan

SPRINGFIELD ~ Cora R. (Taylor) Jordan, 86, a former resident of the East Springfield section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 2, 1933, a beloved daughter of the late William H. and Sarah E. (Massey) Taylor. She was raised in Springfield, attended Springfield schools and had lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Bonita Springs, Florida in 1993. She later returned to Springfield in 2006 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as an assembler and inspector at the former Wico Electric Company in West Springfield. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. During her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and reading. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Curtis R. “Curt” Jordan who was Called Home on December 30, 2002. She leaves her four loving children, Keith R. Jordan and his wife, Lisa, of Palmer, Linda M. Jordan-Parker and her husband, Frederick, of Somers, CT, Michael J. Jordan of North Charleston, SC and Cynthia A. Nadal and her husband, Ricardo, of Springfield; her six cherished grandchildren, Preston, Rebecca, Melissa, Curtis, Kevin and Amber; her cherished great-granddaughter, Serenity; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Jordan and Taylor families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving son, Curtis R. Jordan; her dear brother, Francis Taylor; and her two dear sisters, Esther Dupre and Marion Danio. Family and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.). The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Prayer Service at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
