Kenneth H. "Ken" Sowa

GRANBY ~ Kenneth H. “Ken” Sowa, 77, of Granby was Called Safely Home on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on April 29, 1942, a beloved son of the late Henry E. and Irene R. (Salois) Sowa. He was raised in the Flats section of Holyoke and lived in the city for many years before moving to Granby in 1969. During his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling and bowling. He was an avid Red Sox and NASCAR Racing fan. He was last employed as a truck driver at the former Ampad Company in Holyoke and had previously worked at the former, Technifax Corporation which was later the Xidex Company followed by Scott Graphics, all in Holyoke. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Marlene J. (Cooke) Sowa; his two children, Lynn R. Mercier and her husband, Philip, of Belchertown and Mark T. Sowa of Inglis, FL; his four grandchildren, Amanda Ouimette, Christopher Sowa, Shane Sowa and Andrew Polmetiere; his five great-grandchildren; his sister, Joyce Angers and her husband, Norman, of Belchertown; and his nephew, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Sowa and Cooke families.
