WEBSTER – Jan J. Lockhart, 58, of Webster and a former resident of the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, January 9, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on August 23, 1961, a beloved son of the late James J. and Dolores L. (Touchette) Lockhart. He was raised on Wilmont Street in the Willimansett Heights section of Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Chicopee his entire life before moving to Webster in 2019. He furthered his education and received an Associate’s Degree in Electro Mechanical Engineering from Holyoke Community College. He was the owner and operator of Lockhart’s Dental Service in Chicopee. He also worked with many local manufacturing companies and was proud to have assisted with the design of traffic light casings. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and camping in Hawley and was active with the Cub Scouts Pack 424 and the Boy Scouts Troop 138. He also enjoyed boating and loved his 1987 Sea Ray boat that he affectionately referred to as “Baby Blue”. He was a member of the Fairview Knights of Columbus Council 4044 in Chicopee. He was a jack of all trades and helped everyone and anyone who needed his assistance. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving children, Spencer J. Lockhart of Chicopee and Sarah M. Lockhart of San Antonio, TX; his dear sister, Joy J. Lockhart of Chicopee; his loving partner and fiancée, Carole A. Connolly of Webster; his former wife, Christine M. Bombardier of Ashford, CT; and his many dear cousins, numerous friends and extended family members. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.). His burial will follow at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
