Helene B. (Barth) Tadeo

CHICOPEE – Helene B. (Barth) Tadeo, 90, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, December 23, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Heidelberg, Germany on May 28, 1929, a beloved daughter of the late Heinrich and Wilhemina (Schue) Barth. She was raised in Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1949. Her late husband, Demetrio, was a United States Air Force career veteran and traveled throughout the country with him on his various assignments. In 1959, his last duty assignment was at Westover Air Force Base and following his retirement, they remained residents of Chicopee for the remainder of their lives. Helene was employed as a Nurse’s Aide and Ward Secretary from 1968 until her retirement in 2012 at Holyoke Medical Center where she cared for many patients. Most of all, she loved her family and her many friends. She was a communicant of the Basilica of Saint Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Ret. Master Sergeant, Demetrio L. Tadeo, who was Called Home on June 20, 1980. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her loving son, Raymond P. Tadeo, who was Called Home on August 12, 2006 and her dear brothers and sister, Heinrich, Walter and Elfreda Barth. She leaves her two loving sons, Glenn D. Tadeo and his wife, Gina, and Tim T. Tadeo and his wife, Barbara, all of Chicopee; her daughter-in-law, Donna Tadeo of Chicopee; her seven cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Christopher Tadeo and his wife, Francine, Kristiana Tadeo, Matthew Crouch and his wife, Ashley, Nathan Tadeo, Brendan Tadeo, Tyler Tadeo and Ryan Tadeo; her adoring great-grandson who affectionately called her “Minga”, Matthew Tadeo; her dear nephew, Randolph; and her many cousins, friends and extended family members, including a special family friend, Ellen Moore. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Saturday morning, January 4, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at a later date.
