Thomas J. Boisvere

BELCHERTOWN – Thomas J. Boisvere, 83, of Belchertown and a former longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on February 29, 1936, a beloved son of the late Henry J. and Jeannette I. (Wing) Boisvere. He was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee Public Schools and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Belchertown in 2007. He served his country in the United States Army and attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class and previously served in Massachusetts Army National Guard. He was last employed in the sales department at Holyoke Equipment Company. He previously worked at Wico Electric Company in Springfield and later was a sales representative for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was most especially remembered as the co-owner and operator with his brother, Walter, of Boisvere Brothers Texaco Station on the corner of Granby Road and Montgomery Street in Chicopee. He was a former member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks No. 1849, the Moose Family Center, and the Knights of Columbus Council 4044, all in Chicopee. He was also a Crewman in the Coast Guard Auxilary Flotilla 93. He was a communicant of Saint Francis Church in Belchertown and a former longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. Most of all, he was a hard working man who loved his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Eileen M. J. (Lepine) Boisvere. They were married on November 26, 1959 at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. He also leaves his four loving children, James H. Boisvere and his wife, Diane, of Harrington, DE, Karen A. Abert of West Springfield, Thomas M. Boisvere and his wife, Nicole, and David J. Boisvere and his wife, Lisa, all of Chicopee; his eight cherished grandchildren, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Bradley, Max, Jonathan, Rachel, Cameron, and “Buddy”; his nine cherished great-grandchildren, Cayden, Noelia, Troy, Julian, Austin, Alex, Bentley, Spencer, and Lylah; his dear brother, William Boisvere and his wife, Elaine, of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Boisvere and Lepine families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear sister, Marian Streiber and his five dear brothers, Walter, Alfred, Henry, Franklin, and Richard Boisvere. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
