CHICOPEE ~ Robert R. Ouimette, 71, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life from his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Springfield on April 23, 1948, a beloved son of Doris M. (Frederick) Ouimette of Wilbraham and the late Robert R. Ouimette. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from local schools and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He was employed for many years in sales for Holyoke Equipment which later became Kittredge Equipment. During his younger years, he was a longtime Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 424 in Chicopee. He was also a true outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed going deep sea fishing. He was a communicant of the former Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls. Most of all, he was a quiet man who loved his family and his many friends. Besides his beloved mother, he leaves his loving wife and soul mate, Patricia A. (Santerre) Ouimette. They were married on May 24, 1969 at Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 50 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving sons, Thomas R. Ouimette and his wife, Jeanine, of Springfield, and Christopher A. Ouimette and his wife, Amber, of Chicopee; his four cherished grandchildren whom he adored, Zachary and Alexis Ouimette and Ashlyn and Brielle Ouimette; his three dear brothers, David Ouimette and his wife, Julie, of Easthampton, Brian Ouimette and his wife, Katherine, of Ludlow, and Richard Ouimette and his wife, Jackie, of Wilbraham; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Ouimette and Santerre families. His relatives and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee Falls, MA 01020.
