David E. Laflamme

CHICOPEE – David E. Laflamme, 69, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 22, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at the Farren Care Center in Turners Falls surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Holyoke on May 9, 1950, a beloved son of Ernest N. Laflamme Jr. and Claire E. (Daignault) Laflamme. He was raised in Chicopee, attended Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Chicopee for most of his life. David previously worked in the family business, Laflamme Oil Company in Chicopee. He was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and currently a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. During his leisure time, David enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, watching World Wide Wrestling and his many trips to Hampton Beach. David was a simple man who enjoyed working side by side with his dad, Ernie, driving the Bobcat and working on their various properties. Most of all, David was a quiet man who loved his family and his many friends. Besides his parents, he leaves his 11 cherished siblings, Ernest Laflamme, Allen Laflamme and his wife, Ellen, Kenneth Laflamme and his wife, Ann, Arthur Laflamme and his wife, Kim, Carol Laflamme, Frank Laflamme and his wife, Sue, Tina Crane and her husband, Andy, Lisa Riley and her husband, Timothy, Renee Duval and her husband, Matthew, Marie Laflamme and Cindy Ingram and her husband, Carl; and his many loving uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Laflamme and Daignault families. In addition, he also leaves his longtime friend, Sharon Charron. He was predeceased by his loving brother, John Anthony Laflamme who was Called Home on September 11, 1981. His funeral will be held on Friday morning, January 3, 2020 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
