Steven S. Carey, 62 formerly of Mission Hill passed away peacefully on November 27th after a long illness surrounded by his family. Steve was a loving father to Steven Carey of Canton and Jessica Bass of Plainville, also survived by his ex-wife/life companion Susan Carey of Peabody. He was the proud grandfather of Ronan, Taylor, Caroline, Faxon and Brycenne.
He was the son of the late John Carey and Jeanette Carey of Quincy, beloved brother of Joyce Carey of Quincy, Frank Carey of Norwood, Robert Carey of Norwood, June Cormack of Mesa, AZ, Brian Carey of Saugus, and the late Douglas Carey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in the memory of Steve’s niece/goddaughter Alisha Carey who passed away last year to Rett Syndrome Association of Massachusetts located at 217 South St. Waltham, MA 02453. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Sunday, December 8th from 1-4 pm.
