Obituary

Christopher West “Chris” Floyd, Sr., 69 of Hudson, NH died Monday October 7, 2019 at his home. Chris was born in Derry, NH on June 26, 1950, a son of the late Ralph W. and Gloria (Gallien) Floyd. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry class of 1968. Chris served as a Spec. 5 Sergeant heavy equipment specialist with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was recipient of the Purple Heart. He later served with the National Guard for seven years. He had resided for the past 30 years in Hudson, formerly living in Derry, NH.

Chris was employed at Parlex Corp in Methuen, MA for 10 years, later working for Teledyne Corp in Hudson, NH for 20 years. Chris played horseshoes all his life and was a champion player. He enjoyed chopping wood, playing cards, watching the Red Sox, and collecting “Snapple” bottle caps.

He is survived by four children, Wendy Lee Albert and her husband Jamie of Maine, Christopher W. Floyd, Jr. and his wife Christine of Hudson, Nicholas R. Floyd and his wife Crystal of Deerfield, NH, and Amanda Floyd of Manchester, NH, six grandchildren, Abigail, Alexis, Ayla, Lyric, Lucy, and Lauryn, one sister, Annette Joyce and her husband David of Derry, and one brother, Patrick Floyd and his wife Kelly of Chester, NH. He also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a grandniece and a grandnephew. Chris was predeceased by his stepson.

Calling hours were held on Thursday October 10, 2019 from 4 to 8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with military honors followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Inc., Attn: Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A., Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
