Louise Catherine (Leahy) Dunn, 91, of Londonderry, NH, died peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2019. Born in Medford, MA , daughter of the late Dennis and Theresa (Byrne) Leahy. She grew up in Malden, MA, graduated from Malden Catholic High School and Boston College. She worked many years for the New England Telephone Company. Louise married Thomas (Frank) Dunn and they raised their family in Burlington, VT, Cape Elizabeth, ME and Londonderry, NH.
Pre-deceased by her loving husband Frank (2010), great grandson John Thomas, two brothers Paul and Joseph Leahy, and sister Mary Hudnall. Survived by her sister Barbara Brownlie of Nahant, MA; two sons, Thomas (Joanna) Dunn Jr. of Natick, MA, John (Keri) Dunn of Sanbornton, NH; two daughters, Janice (George) Jasek of Londonderry, NH and Mary (Walter) Rider of North Hampton, NH. Louise was affectionately known as “Nana” by the joys of her life her grandchildren; Tommy, Connor, Allie, John (Jillian), Matt (Carly), Tim, Crockett, Seth, Brennan, and Sheamus; two great grandchildren, Frank and Delilah. She also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends. Louise will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
A woman of strong faith, Louise and her husband were one of the "founding families" of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Londonderry. Louise’s greatest joy was her family, she was a devoted wife and loving mother and she cherished time with her family creating memories. She enjoyed cross-word puzzles, gardening, knitting, cribbage, skiing and laughter at Saddleback Mountain, and baking amazing desserts.
Calling hours were held on Friday, July 19th from 9:00 - 10:30am at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial followed at 11:00am at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1 South Road, Londonderry, NH. Private burial will be at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
