McSweeney, John J. of Dedham passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 7, 2019. Beloved husband and best friend of Kathleen (Kelly) McSweeney. Cherished father of Karen Horan and her husband Roy of Middleboro and Edward McSweeney and his wife Peggy of Sharon. Devoted Grampa of Caitlin McSweeney and Tyler and Kelsey Horan. Brother of Donald J. McSweeney and his wife Diane of Tewksbury, Joseph McSweeney and his wife Susan of Waltham and the late Cornelius McSweeney. He was the son of the late Cornelius and Nora (McCarthy) McSweeney. John was the dear brother-in law of Maureen Flemming, Rosalie and Richard Kelleher, Elizabeth and Tony Nackley, Kevin and Sandra Kelly, Michael and Donna Kelly and James and Florence Kelly. “Uncle John” to so many special nieces and nephews – you know who you are. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visitation in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, WEST ROXBURY on Monday, July 15th from 9:30 a.m. to 10: 30 a.m. Following visitation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury at 11 o'clock. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. U.S. Navy Veteran, Korean War. At John's request no flowers please.
