Blanche M. Winton, 96 formerly of Derry, NH died Tuesday May 14, 2019 in the Colonial Poplin Nursing Home in Fremont, NH. One of 10 children, Blanche was born in Lawrence, MA on April 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Bosse) Demers. She had resided in Derry since 1979, formerly living in Lawrence.
Blanche enjoyed dancing, gardening, and walking her beloved dogs. She especially loved children and being a nanny. She had a love for the beach and bathing in the sun. Blanche enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband Roger.
She is survived by her son, Gary M. Dargoonian of Derry, her two daughters, Mary Lou Johnson and her husband Gregory of Naples, FL, and Diana A. Torosian of Methuen, MA, eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, five great great-grandchildren, her sister, Rose Dargoonian of Methuen, MA, her brother, Rene Demers of Glenbernie, MD, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger F. Winton in 2005 and by her son-in-law, Charles Torosian in 2019.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Monday May 20, 2019 from 9 – 11 am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Catholic prayer service was offered at 11:00am. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
