William Gefteas, age 78, of Canton passed away suddenly December 20th at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital. Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Canton. He graduated from Canton High School, Northeastern University, Class of 1964 with BA in Business Administration and was the President of the AKS Fraternity. He went on to earn his MBA from Suffolk University in 1965. Bill worked as a Sales and Business Manager for Nynex/Verizon for 35 years and was the Co-Owner and Manager of the Turnpike Café in Canton for 58 years.

Beloved husband of Jean D. (Harrington). Father of Peter W. Gefteas of Canton and Stephen T. Gefteas and his wife Gail (Kennedy) of Canton. Brother of John Gefteas and his late wife Effie of Canton. Grandfather of Nikki, Rose, Allie and Will Gefteas. Son of Peter Gefteas and Chickie Colouris.

Bill loved working at the Turnpike Café with his mother Chickie, his brother John and wife Effie, and his son Stephen. But his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. He was in daily contact with them, attending all of their events, and taking pride in all of their achievements. To his children and grandchildren, he was like a lighthouse guiding them along life's journey. He enjoyed traveling with Jeannie to Cape Cod and Bermuda and especially treasured a recent family trip to Nashville. Bill's home and family were the most important things in his life.
