Worcester – Robert F. Brower, 70, of Worcester, passed away in his home on Wednesday, December 12th with his family by his side after a brief illness.
Mr. Brower is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dianne M. (Brooks) Brower; his two sons, Robert F. Brower Jr. of Worcester and John P. Brower of Hudson, NH; a daughter, Michelle M. Brower of Worcester; two brothers, Calvin Brower of Northampton, MA and Steven Brower of Chicopee, MA; 7 grandchildren, Sabrina, Ashley, Tyler, Zachary, Jacob, Jayda and Javon; 4 great grandchildren, Emmaly, Anthony, Mariah and Aliyah, who is expected to be arriving in early 2019; Several Brother and Sister In-Laws whom were his closest friends, many nieces, nephews, friends and family including a special aunt, Dolly Larkin of Worcester.
Mr. Brower was born in Worcester, son of the late George and Elaine (Ramsey) Brower and is also predeceased by a brother, George Brower and a sister, Faye Lewis. He worked for over 35 years at Saint Gobain / Norton Company as a kiln operator in Refractory 6.
Mr. Brower was an avid sports fan and could often be found on a local golf course. However, Bob was the happiest when he was with his family. Mr. Brower volunteered for many years as a coach for his children’s various sports teams and would often take vacations with his wife to enjoy the warmer temperatures.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 21 at 11 AM in Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Church 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Brower may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
