Poseidon “Nick” Nikiforakis, 52, of Worcester died Friday, November 30th in Boston Medical Center. He leaves a son, Michael Poseidon Nikiforakis of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Jerrica Lei Hassan and her husband, Mohamed of Worcester and Elisabeth P. Contreras of Worcester; a granddaughter; many aunts, uncles and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace "Evdoxia" Theoharidis.
He was born in Stuttgart, West Germany, the son of Michael and Elisabeth “Veta” (Parafestas) Nikiforakis. Poseidon worked for many years at the family business the former Mike’s Pizza in Spencer. He enjoyed telling jokes and was a great singer. His poetry was loved by everyone. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children. Nick volunteered his time raising money for the American Diabetes Association to help find a cure.
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 260 Cochituate Rd #200, Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Cancer Association, 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.
