Obituary

AUBURN___ Stanley Meliesius, 100, of Auburn, died in St. Mary Health Care Center, on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was born October 29, 1918 in Kuragano Siberia. He is the son of the late John and Ann (Zemaitis) Meliesius. He is predeceased by three sisters: Anastasia, Maria and Ann. His living sister is Victoria Sodeika of Vilnius, Lithuania. He leaves several nieces and nephews including; Maria, Edita and Kristin of Vilnius, Lithuania, Dalia Jakubauskaus of Florida and John Pipiras of Arizona.
Stanley immigrated to United States in December of 1949. He lived in Detroit Michigan and was a line painter of roads and highways with Detroit Concrete Products for 40 years. In his retirement he returned to Worcester to care for his sister Maria Pipiras. Stanley was a member of the former St. Casimir Parish and later St. John Church. He assisted at St. Casimir’s as a volunteer maintenance worker for some fifteen years. A faithful man, as he aged and began losing his hearing and sight, he faithfully prayed the rosary each day.

The funeral will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 11:00 am in St. John Church, 40 Temple St. A calling hour in the funeral home will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, November 30, 2018.
