New Bedford – Albert O. Correia, age 86, of New Bedford passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Joan Mary (Ramshead) Correia and together they celebrated 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Albert was born in New Bedford, MA to the late John O. and Rose (Santos) Correia. He had been employed as an Electronics Technician for the US Federal Government in Newport, RI. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan; children, Cheryl Roderiques and her companion, Carlos M. Melo and Bryan A. Correia and his wife, Bonnie; grandchildren, David Roderiques and his wife, Katie, Austyn Correia and Brian Hunter Correia; great-granddaughter, Olivia Roderiques; sister, Dorothy Burgess; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Correia.
Albert’s visiting hours will be held Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will be Saturday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 7:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 8:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
