Obituary

 
Worcester:  Cheryl A. (Swenson) Weagle, 72, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after living for 6 years with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.  She leaves her husband Clifford Weagle, her son Stephen B. Harris and his wife Lucy; her daughter Christine A. Sendrowski and her husband Michael, her two step-daughters Lisa Weagle and Joeel Niemann and her husband Joel, her eight grandchildren, Megan, Leah, Nathan, Owen, Logan, Spencer, Zachary, and Joshua, her sister Gail Bessette and her husband Robert and several nieces and nephews as well as her dogs Sophia Rose and Bailey.
 
Cheryl was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Pupecki) Swenson.  She graduated from Commerce High School and most recently worked as an Administrative Assistant at UMASS Medical School until her retirement in 2012.  She was an active member of St. Michaels on the Heights Church and was a member of numerous essential ministries of the church, especially outreach and mission. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a longtime Patriots and NASCAR fan and a yellow belt in Taekwondo. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and hosting family gatherings. Cheryl and Cliff enjoyed many summers boating and spending time in Vermont. After retirement she volunteered at her granddaughters’ school in many areas including the library, teachers’ helper, and the ice cream lady.
 
The family would like to thank the staff at the VNA Hospice, especially her Home Health Aide Linda K who treated her like family. She was forever grateful for the care she received from the Oncology and Radiology Teams at UMASS throughout her journey.
 
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Michael's on the Heights Church. Burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl's memory may be made to Marie's Mission c/o St. Michaels on the Heights Church 340 Burncoat St. Worcester, MA 01606.
