LEICESTER: Evelyn H. (Copp) Klosek, 97, of Maple Street died Monday, October 15 in Homestead Hall in Worcester.
Her husband Walter E. Klosek died in 1986. She leaves a daughter Ann E. Weeks and her husband Francis of Worcester, three grandchildren, John Weeks and Elizabeth Weeks of Worcester and James Weeks and his wife Jennifer, and their son Henry of Ontario, Canada, and her beloved dog Sammi. She was predeceased by a son Edward Klosek.
Mrs. Klosek was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas and Marion (Harkins) Copp. She was a secretary for over 25 years at Clark University retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. Pius X Church. She graduated from Leicester High School. She was a member of the Leicester Women's Club. Upon retirement, Evelyn volunteered for 20 years at Fairlawn Hospital. She enjoyed her work there, and made many friends while at Fairlawn. She also attended yoga classes at the Leicester Senior with her friend Nancy Smith and many wonderful friends. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts. She loved vacationing at the beach with her family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Homestead Hall and the JHC Hospice for the devoted and compassionate care they gave to Evelyn, and Sharon Weeks for her dedication and support.
The funeral will be held Friday, October 19 from MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service from 9:45-10:45 AM in the funeral home.
